Trotwood-Madison Boys Basketball team is DII State Champs!

Trotwood rolled into Saturday's state final looking to capture the title that eluded them just one season ago. With less than a minute to go in the 3rd quarter the team was down 11 and things were looking bleak for the Rams. Senior Amari Davis took over scoring 6 points in the early part of the 4th and provided the spark the Rams needed to right the ship. Keontay Huguely provided the additional firepower the Rams needed in the 4th quarter, tying the game and then immediately stealing the ball on the inbound and sinking the layup to put the Rams up 2 and in the lead for the first time since the 2nd quarter. South would take the lead 73-70 with 3:45 to go but would never score again. Layups by Sammy Anderson, Keontay Huguely and two freethrows by Carl Blanton Jr. sealed the game for the Rams who defeated South 77-73 to win the Division II State Championship for the first time in school history.
